Privacy Policy
Atlanta Shia Hub · operated by Path Productions
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Atlanta Shia Hub (the “App”) is a community application for the Shia
community of Metro Atlanta, operated by Path Productions (“we,”
“us”). This policy explains what information the App collects, how
it is used, and your choices. Browsing the App does not require an account.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect
your email address, display name, and a phone number you provide at sign-up.
The phone number is used by moderators to verify that you are a member of the
community before approving your account; it is visible only to moderators and
is never shown to other users. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive
your name and email from that provider. We do not receive or store your
Google/Apple password.
- Membership status. A record indicating whether a moderator
has approved your account for access to members-only content.
- Center affiliation. The community center you choose as your
primary (and, optionally, other centers you attend) when you sign up. It helps a
center's administrator recognize and approve you, and lets hosts direct a
home-gathering invitation to a specific center's members. It is used only within
the App and is not shown publicly.
- Content you choose to submit. Community board listings
(title, description, contact details, area, price) and home-gathering
(majlis) requests, which may include an occasion, date, time, and a host
address that you enter. Submitted content is reviewed by moderators and,
once approved, is shown to other signed-in members of the App. Home-gathering
addresses are shown only to approved, signed-in members — never on the
public web.
- Usage analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying counters such
as how often screens are opened. These do not identify individual users.
- Technical data. Standard service logs (such as IP address
and device information) processed by our infrastructure provider for security
and reliability.
- On-device only. Prayer-time reminders are scheduled locally
on your device and are not sent to us.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the App (sign-in, content posting, member vetting).
- To moderate submitted content and protect community members' privacy.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share
it with advertisers.
Where your data is stored
Account and content data are stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and
Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC on servers in the United States.
Sign-in is provided by Google and Apple. These providers process data under
their own privacy policies.
Data retention
We keep your account and submitted content until you ask us to delete them or a
moderator removes the account. You can request deletion at any time using the
contact below; a moderator can also delete a member account from the admin tools.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update your name from within the App.
- Delete your account and associated data at any time directly in the App
(Account → “Delete my account”), or by emailing us.
- Disable on-device prayer reminders in your device settings.
Children
The App is intended for general community use and is not directed to children
under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by updating the “Last updated” date above.
